the man on the square

August 6, 2007

he thrusts his hands
into an unseen box

turning this – grabbing that
he pulls out demons

Boys bet dollars at the wheel –
detached from any holy values.
Greed and thrill keep their interest
as calculated.

The public address blares
a Michael Jackson crotch clutching song.
It can be heard inside the empty church.

Grandmothers swill down halushki with butter.
Young girls strut about with killer legs,
blowing off the uncool.

Bone grit
explodes into
a thousand ripples,

welcoming home
her borrowed
physicality.

who is evil

June 30, 2007

ask anyone
inside the circle,
they will tell you
who is evil.

ask anyone
outside the circle,
they will tell you
who is evil.

storm ships

those billowy clouds
with voluptuous
highlights
set against blue sky

float on their way
to commit raucous
rack
and ruin

messages…
unable to cross
synaptic divides

lay in piles of data
on the shoreline of consciousness

poking letters
into this radiant screen

bip bip bip blip
bip bip bip blip…

I think back to
your soft abrasions

spycurity

No more
security,

just spycurity.

No more sleeping
in peace,

 only sleeping
while watched.

Dad was often a car
or washing machine
with arms –

to which I handed
a tool,
or a pack of smokes.
