maybe it was a place –
like quiet is a place
to stop amid the noise
and find yourself there.
was it a process?
maybe it was a process –
like birth is a process
to come into something
you have – and have not – been in before.
was it a game?
maybe it was a game –
like a tree is a game
to hide up among the leaves
knowing autumn will soon arrive.
