Hmm, that’s like a zen koan… I’m not sure what it means… can you enlighten me? 🙂 god bless… Jerry (italktogod.wordpress.com)

    hey Jerry,

I took a quick swing by your blog. Had only a minute but will check it out later. Since you talk to God you already know I have to go out this morning and pick up some last minute gifts.

There are many “holy” men who surround themselves in relative luxury. I think true holy men do not luxuriate themselves with material goods.

    Does that make any sense?

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you again.

    Hi Mr/Mrs Qazse,

I’m not sure why you responded with the small hate gesture, but I will try to take it as humor so I’m not affected by it. Because God has made itself known to me does not mean that it’s telling me what you’re doing today.

God has more pressing issues and less time to do everything – like most of us these days. I’m sure you can appreciate that.

What does a holy man do? What is a true holy man according to your thinking? Does a true holy man walk around with one set of clothes and talk to the dregs of the earth – prostitutes and unbelievers?

No, it doesn’t make that much sense… I’ll read it again to see if it becomes more clear…

what hate gesture? You mean the attempt at humor?

I like this observation, even though I haven’t found my own religion yet. What the question is, though is why do the holy men surround themselves in luxury? Isn’t a monetary system just an arbitary measure of self-worth– and, in this haiku, is that the point you are trying to get across?

Forgive me if I’m way off, studying poetry is something I’m rather new to.

  6. qazse Says:

I think many religious leaders are on a gravy train while many others are very sincere, and many others are on an ego trip…and probably every permutation of these, and other motivations.

I am no better or worse than them. I don’t pretend to have special powers or information which allows me to tell you what God is all about. With many, it always has to do with supporting the cause; and we are right and they are wrong. I can only tell you what I think, not what to think.

Regarding the study of poetry – your perceptions are as valid as anyone else’s. Your observation is exactly in the spirit of what I am talking about. There is no official meaning, only impulses and reactions, intuitions… Thank you for reading and commenting.
