I don’t! That is for sure, and it’s a hell of a ride! 🙂
Great, thought-provoking post, Q!

Great question, I’d have to say that I’ve done it all the hard way.

Heather – will you raise you kids to be free spirits?
krkbaker – can you give some specifics?

Q- Yes, I will. I want them to feel the same freedom, and the same responsibility, that I do. I want them to feel comfortable expressing themselves and confident in their choices. I also want them to know what is and is not appropriate – being a swinger in your thirties is different from sleeping with every boy in your junior high or high school, and I will have to instill that in them. But I have the feeling that my girls will be free spirits no matter how I raise them – they are too much like me to be contained!
I wrote a post awhile back about this, kind of. (“Daughters”) I was at a party and this guy basically attacked me for my lifestyle and told me how badly I was damaging my children..well, I had some thoughts on that! I am confident, comfortable with myself, likable (usually) and happy. Why wouldn’t I want my daughters to be the same?
OK long comment…but thanks for asking!
