   You know, for someone who was going to be sans computer for awhile you’ve hardly missed a day. Did you get the computer thing worked out and I just missed it reading back over what I’d missed since my list visit?

   Bice – I was able to do some posting on my breaks at work and on my son’s machine. However, all the glitches have been ironed out and I am back on stream with my DELL.

   t5 – thank you. I have had the privledge of managing several groups, departments and agencies. And I have had the good fortune of being exposed to forward thinking writers such as Abraham Maslow and Tom Peters (In Search of Excellence). Concepts such as self actualization, open communication, autonomous teams, management as service (not position), shared leadership, a solution (vs blame)approach, and committment to the people you hire are just a bit of the widom which I absorbed from many great thinkers. It was a bit scary to go against the grain early on but this approach has servered each endeavor very well. Ps I am not an “employee of the month” guy… it infantalizes the workforce and engenders competition and resentment. I am a lets have fun while dong something significant and excellent as a team geek.

   Qazse! I got on your site from work! I must have foiled Big-Brother’s attempts to squash my non-work activities.

   I agree with you – Let’s have fun while doing something significant. Employees of the Month get the best parking spaces though…

   Actually, I believe that management ought to park the furthest from the door. It would say a great deal about their regard for the employees.
