I will
November 15, 2007
When I can no longer walk
I will watch.
When I can no longer see
I will listen.
When I can no longer hear
I will tell my stories.
When I can no longer remember
I will make them up.
wrestling with congruency
When I can no longer walk
I will watch.
When I can no longer see
I will listen.
When I can no longer hear
I will tell my stories.
When I can no longer remember
I will make them up.

i am a caregiver to a 95 year old woman and i thought of her when reading your poem. It made me smile/frown. It’s a combo my mouth does when something is sweet and sad all at once.

christine, I know what you mean. How is she doing? PS I still can not link back to you from your comment entry.

Thank you so much for asking about her!
She appears to be weakening. Her appetite is decreasing and she has been visiting with a son she lost at age 24. She is a little less here, but still here.
i don’t know why that happens, with my link, i mean. i’m a technological disaster so all i am able to do for now is leave my link here, if that is okay?
