I think that equals Slaughterhouse Ten…

Seriously, I have never read the book but ought to find the time to do so. I hadn’t known the setting or the author’s actual experience in it.

This has been inside me and outside me for a few years now. Coming to the conclusion that violence is a human aspect. The, trying to move on from there.

Children of Men has some interesting thinkers in the special features. Clan, culture, how we bond, what we see as ours, how we see beyond that are always on my mind!

I believe we are capable of different, I just do not see it my life time.

BUT, I will continue to be me and you will be you and that is a goodness!

    Well posed…

    Thanks,

    Kim

Kim, Thanks for the comment. I believe you mentioned Children of Men before. I had written it down but have yet to rent it. Here is my take on the reason for war:

    War

    As long as we worship
    the warrior –

    war hunts the earth

This poem (am I like the mime who has to do everything in mime – even his wedding?) works in with your examination of clan. The warrior is worshiped because he/she protects the clan. It makes sense that you would surround yourselves with people willing to defend the group with their lives and then make them feel very special.

    best
