I wish the politicians could get this seemingly simple point.

    Good one!

Have you ever heard a pop song where you know the next line or word, even if you’ve never heard it before? It’s almost like they’re so cliched, you see it coming. Not so with your stuff.

A lot of your poems leave me thinking I should have expected what comes next, but I rarely do. That’s one of the great aspects to this piece, and to your writing in general.

    mikaelah,

Sadly, I think most of them count on the truth in it.

    Howard,
Yes, I think you are right. They are cutting themselves off though with this kind of backward and truly neaderthal thinking. It may not be all that simple to them either as I think more about it. It takes some time to sit quietly for this kind of simple truths to emerge and be known. I don’t see a lot of space for that kind of thing in politics. I keep looking though.

I watched The Charlie Rose Show tonight. Three interviews with reporters who were in Manchester New Hampshire on the primary eve. One of them pointed out that messages of unification and bipartisanship were the winning messages in Iowa and it should play the same in NH. That, along with a message for change.

And thank you Howard for your comment about my writing. It is nice to hear that what you try does work like you hoped it would.

Opps, forgot to add this note to mikaelah –

Good point about the noise that must be in these politico’s minds.
