dying for Chrtistmas
December 2, 2008
The tree we cut
and carried
into our home
the one
we shackled
then
trimmed
sang to
then
toasted
now lies
in the gutter
her
hooks
and tinsel
riffling on the wind
wrestling with congruency
The tree we cut
and carried
into our home
the one
we shackled
then
trimmed
sang to
then
toasted
now lies
in the gutter
her
hooks
and tinsel
riffling on the wind

Preach on soldier. I see the poor adolescent sapling as the crucified sacrifice on the altar of the Christian Redeemer complex. Why should these Gaian arbor soldiers be forcefully uprooted, sold to the soulless materialists, and crucified in a dying room ceremony? They have souls.

Over 100 million of these soldiers are severed from mother earth each year. It seems ironic that we have a non profit organization dedicated to planting trees.
