kim, yes i did take it. It was taken in a forest which is west of lake placid. We live 6 hours south of there. I do live in an equally picturesque and snowy area called the endless mountains in Pennsylvania.
Snow is nice when you are not committed to being someplace else. There is something so cozy and romantic about it. As I type this we are getting snow and will probably reach 10 inches by tomorrow. We are preparing to take our Airedale friend, Buddy, for a walk in it. His barrel nose will soon be white from sniffing and playing.
clancyjane, funny you should mention traipse – this is the haiku which came to me at that time :
in the woods at last
we walk atop the snow pack
liberated
I love the fact you can depart from the path so much more easily in winter. You can traipse around in snowshoes. (a girl would be wise to pack a compass and cell phone :))
