I will

November 15, 2007

When I can no longer walk
I will watch.

When I can no longer see
I will listen.

When I can no longer hear
I will tell my stories.

When I can no longer remember
I will make them up.

brown and brittle it shakes

the God Cage

November 7, 2007

We frame God
in a cage of words
like a monkey
begging for coins.

with each wave
these last moments
bathe our consciousness

there was nothing else…

(but jobs are waiting)

put the tiny shells
in your pockets
I tell the boys

so the big ones won’t crush them.

two buddies –
they are eleven
never to be eleven again.

the breeze hides my tears.

Bone grit
explodes into
a thousand ripples,

welcoming home
her borrowed
physicality.

the gases
the stone
the life forms
the consciousness

we must build
on what has become,
not destroy it

Velcro – Unzipped

why a following
and not faith?
why signs
and no horizons?
why flesh
but no sight?

why not faith
and no following?
why not horizons
with no signs?
why not sight
but not flesh?

Eternity smiles

May 5, 2006

On a cold still night
moon lights the room.

I hold her upon my lap
a  warm tiny bundle.

Her dark eyes
search this space

as we rock in time
with the universe…
