Peace Is Free

January 27, 2008

You don’t have to get cleansed
cleared or confirmed

You don’t have to pay tribute

Peace is as free as your next breath
your next smile

We are spiritual guests on this earth
and should not join in the killing cycle.

Peace
and Prosperity
for the Poor

(for a change)

Pray for Peace

December 28, 2007

The dogs of war continue to rule this world. Your place and mine. Their opportunity is hostility and ignorance. Their game is manipulation. Terror is a tool – the fear of hell, ridicule, beating, bombing, jail, locusts,  the list goes on and on. Each place has its own special box of terror.

Missing Him

December 24, 2007

Let’s work backwards:

First, I will miss him just sitting in his chair

content to smile as if he had no needs  –

connected by spirit, happy to be.

I will miss the shuffle of his brave feet

planting the walker ahead like an ice axe;

climbing mountains we could not see.

I will miss him presiding above the fondue

a sorcerer stirring by candle light,

conjuring batches of yuletide glee.

I will miss him saying grace at the helm

from which he would love, work, and lead

a life of no regret,  a life of family.
